I was living in London and dreaming of living in Cornwall. It was always the thing I wanted to do – more than anything else…

So one dreary London Winter I set a New Years resolution: I didn’t want to do this anymore, I wanted to spend the next Christmas in Cornwall. I was very decisive about it.

In actual fact I did very little to bring this about except set the intention. Then by August, with strange synchronicity, I found myself in a set of circumstances that made the move to Cornwall a very real possibility. By September, I was living and working in Cornwall and I did indeed spend the next Christmas in a cottage in Cornwall with a roaring log fire and my wellies on the doorstep!

I live in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by the Cornish countryside. I have woodpeckers and every type of tiny bird at my bird table – including robins of course! There are no street lamps and at night the stars are vibrant and clear. I have badgers, foxes, squirrels, weasels, pheasants, deer and rabbits running around in the fields next to my home and I absolutely love it!

Here are a few of my Cornish countryside inspired pieces. As well as all the spring flower inspired paintings, I’ve also introduced some beach paintings too.
