Together, Every One Achieves More

With the easing of restrictions occuring right across the UK, a small sense of normality is slowly beginning to return and one way independent retailers are celebrating welcoming local shoppers back is FIVER FEST!

Some of you may of heard of FIVER FEST before, but many people still haven’t!

Well, FIVER FEST starts tomorrow and this is what it’s all about…

This June, FIVER FEST is the chance for independent businesses to use their collective community power to encourage people back to our town centresto say a great big thank you to customers who supported them during lockdown and to prove once again, that the smaller retailers can compete with the online giants and the supermarkets. In fact they beat them hands down in many ways, but most of all their contribution to our local economies.

Independent businesses are not waiting for the government or some big organisation to do something, we are cracking on and doing it ourselves. Like before, no fuss.

Last October saw 130 towns across the United kingdom take part with thousands of smaller independent businesses like Lisa Harker Quirky Art joining in

Businesses taking part put on special £5 offers over 2 weeks, to show the diversity and value of what they sell, and to say thank you to the communities that support them.

It comes from the (now famous) Totally Locally £5 message showing the huge impact of people spending just £5 per week in their local independent shops can have on our High Streets.

Truro is a fantastic city with such amazing community spirit. Why not come and support local families and their businesses and spend just a fiver in as many local businesses as you can.

Spending a little can go a long way. If every adult spent just £5 per week in their local independent shops & businesses it would mean £3.7 million per year going directly into our local economy!

How amazing is that?

Over the next two weeks you can get a lot for your fiver and you’ll be helping your community thrive whilst bagging a bargain.

We hope to see you all soon!
